Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress who is best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She earned an undergraduate degree in African-American Studies at Brown University as well as a Masters in Fine Arts in Acting at the Tisch School for the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a writer and American actor active in the theatre in film, television, and theatre. She started acting on stage and then appeared in independent, mainstream and television series. She was known for appearing in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. Both series received major reviews, and she also won a lot of accolades. She started her career as an actress in 1995, when she appeared as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. The stage credits she has received include the Broadway production that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Film-wise she is most famous for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. Also, she is well-known for her role on ABC's crime show High Incident.
